You can't prove god by verifying the bible, and if you're out to verify the bible, you have to look at BOTH sides of the evidence, like any rational person would.

So you'd have to cope with the fact that a bat is not a bird, for example.

Proving historical statements and events can not prove that God exists, it can lead you to believe that "God" created everything or that past supposed stories actually happened--the history channel is coming out next Sunday that gives archaeological proofs that the stories in Genesis for example Moses and the Exodus actually happened, but it will never prove he exists, because it is a matter of faith. Just look around yourself. Look at something artificial. It needed someone to make it and if it was a machine that made it then someone had to make the machine. It is the same with all life.
