Birds like to be sitting as high up as they can get. I have had a lot of birds that would keep trying to get on my head, but after a while they learn that is not where I want them sitting, I would just remove them and put them back on my shoulder. If they continue to do that then I put them in their cage for a time out. They can be taught that sitting on your head is not your prefered perch.

I used to live with my friend and he had a cockatiel, the cockatiel would start off on your shoulder or would just go straight to your hair, sometimes he would just kind of hang around up there but other times, especially with my friend cause he really loved him, he would start looking through his hair to clean him, sort of like when you see two birds preening each other. same thing, it's socializing with you.
You're lucky it's just checking your hair, my friend's bird liked to check his teeth too.

It means nothing. They are just going to a higher ground. My Jenday, Jack, loves to climb up into my pony tail or hair clip and then primp my hair as he primps his feathers. It's normal...just exploring.

If you are standing then it is probably trying to get to the top of you. Birds feel safer the higher up they are. So there is probably nothing to worry about.

You have what vets call, "Sunflower seeds" in you scalp. I apologize for getting too technical, however, this is the correct name. Please stay away from tow truck drivres named Hal, and the deli counter at Albertsons.
I very much hopes this helps. I am much to be thankful for this opportunity.
