My friend just got a job in a tough neighborhood and I want her to be safe. I want to get her a stun gun/taser from somewhere (probably ebay) but I don't know what to get. What is your experience with various brands and models? How much voltage do you need for this to be effective?

My hubbie got me one , but I have never used it. He says to get a high voltage and only use it for a couple seconds then run.

a stun gun is like almmost having a gun.... if yu pull it out its because your DEFINATELY going to use it. what if it gets taken from her?..... why not try pepper spray.. can be used at a distance and does not require actual contact. As a black belt in karate as well as kenpo,, your best bet is basic self defense classes...forget the idea of stun gun

yea and its bad and u get into trouble got it at wildwood new jersey loloits illegal in NY tho and no fun when a jerk plays with it uses it on u i got hurt.. so um.. keep this all in mind.. mace is easier sentence thing is if she dropeed a taser and they used it against her shes dead or raped .. a loud whistle on hand is good.. i would tell her to quit now as it is not good to be at risk like this.. she could get arrested from the assaulter as well .. illegal stuff is bad..i took tae kwondo that in it self to be on guard and agile and alert is one good thing join with her.. tell her not to carry a purse. cant u pick her up or meet her..mayeb she can get a dog and leave it outside til her shift is done.. take a cab she needs to carry a pen in her hand too ..
