We had a course of that in school. What better adjectives fit.
Most people cuss because they have a limited vocabulary and they are uneducated.
For my butt head I had to substitute You don't understand very well. Actually thats better i can say it and everyone knows what I mean but I don't get in trouble.
That's bad!!!!!!!! Wow that's cool.
We can't say Lucky, not supose to believe in luck. Say that turned out well for you didn't it. teacher stressing we make our own luck.
Oh my goodness! Woe did you see that!
We can't say Oh my God!
dammit is Ouch! We have a whole book of those.
smart butt one girl said You are so arrogant. substitute.
Every time we say a cuss work or bad word we have to come up with a substitue that better expresses the idea.
Sometimes with several. Try it it really works.

I don't really use anything to avoid taking the Lord's name in vain because I am really conscious of not doing that. But I'll use other words so that I don't swear at all: dang, rats, drat.
I hope that you don't get a lot of smartbutt answers here because I'm glad to see that you are controlling your cursing.

It is not the word specifically that you use, it is the feeling in your heart when you say it. In olden times when the commandments were given to us, the words we use now weren't even in existence. One that is very specific though, is of course, not taking the Lords name in vain. Instead of looking for alternate words, try looking for a little more patience and love and calmness.

I don't have a problem saying "christ on a bike!" or "for gods sake!!" When angry. Especially in the vicinity of fundamental christians. The looks are priceless, I have to admit! :P
When it comes to profanities though, I prefer "Go forth and multiply!" as apposed to F*ck off.
Sorry if I was extracting the urine a bit...;)

God doesn't care what word you use at all, except where it might offend someone who hears it. In other words, there is nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn't harm others.
The idea that it's wrong to use "cuss" words derive from misunderstanding these words of Paul, "But now ye also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth." [Colossians 3:8] The spirit who rules this world has caused many to pounce upon the words "filthy communication," and has led them to ignore the words "anger, wrath, malice, and blasphemy."
Using the words of Paul, the Devil has caused us all to believe in a most outlandish and ridiculous lie. That old serpent has changed the words of Paul into his own commandment that is so transparent and stupid that even a moron should be able to see through it. Not all of us have been morons, yet all of us have believed this silly commandment -- even those who have not obeyed it. Thus we have been taught taboos concerning certain words of our languages, and have been convinced that using these words is a transgression against God.
Certain words taken from the Bible are considered taboo when used as slang. Therefore all good and faithful Christians will raise an eyebrow when they hear someone shout, "Damn it!" Or "Oh, to hell with it!" But they will smile with a twinkle in their eyes if they should hear someone exclaim, "Oh, Hades!" "Hades" does not happen to be taboo in this present age.
Some words denoting parts of the body, human or animal, are considered "filthy," and so it is with certain words that describe natural bodily functions and activities. While under this delusion, it's a wonder that some have not tried to change the wording in the King James Version of the Bible from "...that pisseth against the wall," to "...that is a male," or even to "...that urinates against the wall." [1 Samuel 25:22; 1 Kings 14:10; 1 Kings 16:11; 1 Kings 21:21; 2 Kings 9:8] Evidently the word "piss" was not a taboo word in the year 1611.
According to the spirit of this world, "filthy communication" is using certain words he has convinced us are taboo, while not allowing us to recognize the true filthiness of our conversations.
We do not see the dirt in our words of hate toward our fellow man. We can not always perceive the filth in our words such as: "The dirty murderers should all be taken out and shot," "He should be strung up by the heels," " He's not a human, but an animal," "those dirty Japs," "those godless Russians," "He should be horsewhipped," "If he says anything to me, I'll knock his teeth down his throat," "He got exactly what he deserved, the dirty scum," "Nobody does that to me and gets away with it," and "Did you know that a strange man stays at her house every time her husband is out of town?"
These are all examples of the type of filthy communication about which Paul wrote. Urging others to support capital punishment for someone who has done a wrong is the same as persuading them to kill their fellow man -- and is also an example of filthy communication. Words of anger, wrath, malice, and railings directed toward our fellow man are filthy communications and they are also blasphemy against God.
The very fact that the Deceiver was able to cause so many people, obtuse and intelligent alike, to believe that using certain taboo words was "filthy communication," and that saying "urinate" instead of "piss" made a great difference to the Supreme Being who created the universe, should give us some inkling of the great power of the Deceiver enabling him to deceive.
Though it makes no difference to the Creator of the universe which specific word we choose to denote a thing, it does indeed make a difference to the god of this world. For if we believe in his interpretation of filthy communications, we will not look further for any other meaning of those words.
The Deceiver does not want any of us to recognize our words of hate toward our fellow man as filthy communications -- for those words of hate keep us in his servitude and prevent us from escaping from his realm. For the same reason, the spirit of this world has given us many other so-called moral laws to observe, keeping us in bondage to him and to his world.
And also, saying "God damn" is not taking God's name in vain because "God" is not His name. If you knew His name and refused to call upon it in everything you say or do - then that would be taking His name in vain.

I hardly EVER use swears... and it doesn't matter what words you put in there... it could be "pudding" or "marshmallow" or anything... if it is used as a swear word... it IS a swear...
But, you should also realize that sometimes it is an exclamation and not a swear...
Using God's name in vain is always a swear... whether you mean it or not.

hahaha yeah i like BLAST! too. That's good ..
And yeah our language is a BIG deal. You shall know them by their fruit. the mouth speaks our of the overflow of the heart. I think people who curse all the time are NOT filled with The Spirit.
Sometimes "God!" or "Jesus Christ!" will slip out so . . .i continue and say something like ". . .is great!" or ".... is our lord and savior!" savvy?
