One of the most basic Christian principles is that NONE of us are perfect or sin-free, and NONE of us ever will be in this life. We're human and incapable of perfection. Jesus paid for our sins so that we could move on past that and learn to live better lives here on earth. We should turn away from sin as much as possible, but we will ALL fall short, so why do non-Christians get so angry when they see Christians mess up?

Many nonbelievers search for ways to justify their empty lifestyle, including the old media, and highlight the sins of Christians to discredit the faith. Christians are not and will never be perfect. We are all sinners, but because of God's grace we are forgiven again and again. Praise the Lord!

There is a lot of history behind Christianity good, bad and ugly. Some Christians put their faith as the only one possible and every body should be a Christian, which doesn't work for every one. It's the ones who go to church and pretend that they are holier than thou and then do atrocious things, like pedophilia, spousal abuse, theft, that make Christians look bad. Everyone needs to be more accepting of other peoples beliefs and not stress whether or not some one is or is not a christian. I've met a lot of good heathens, just don't believe in one God and I've met bad ones, If someone claims they are a Christian then they should follow the path of Jesus - being a good person, to all no matter who they are. Jesus never mentions when he is quoted as saying "love thy neighbor" as to who the neighbor was. what color they were, what religion, gender, etc... So just relax and work on being the best person you can be.

I think that we as Christians are held to different standards by non-christians. They forget the fact that we are not perfect, just forgiven. Non-believers feel that we should be Christ like --which we should be but even in the Bible it tells us that even when we are at our best, we are no better than filthy robes. I think that some Christians look down or talk down to non-believers which causes them to feel inadequate and fire back with the hypocrite statement. We as Christians always have to remember where we are and what we came from and set an example the best we can!!!

Because many who "claim Christianity" are fake, just like the Pharisees and Sadducee's in Jesus' time.

Many so called Christians spew hate and terrible things and we as a christian community just sit by and do not speak up louder than them. This leads to the mistaken idea that we all feel this way, and that we are better than everyone else, when we aren't, and we don't all feel that way. Which in turn makes non-believers think we are hypocrites.

Real Christians need to speak up and put the "so-called" christians in their place and until we step up and do that we will continue to be put under the same label as the fake ones.

I think christians are hypocritical because they all pretend to follow the bible, but none do.

You'll get crap about how the OT was "overturned" by Jesus, even though Jesus expressly is quoted as saying that he did no such thing.

Then for an encore, such christians will rally around 10 Commandment displays (which would have been "overturned" by Jesus if he ever actually said that he did that)

This is a good question. Unfortunetly I think you are going to get a bunch of answers like the ignorant ones you already did. I think it is because some of the most vocal Christians are hypocrites.

For example, EVERYBODY knows, Thou shalt not kill, but the Christians in the media are against abortion, but some will bomb abortion clinics. They claim that the aborted children are innocent so that supposedly justifies their actions. I don't see the word innocent in the commandment. These are same people who support the death penalty for the same reasons. I can't figure it out. Yes, we all do fall short, but we are to TRY.

You have basically delineated the most fundemental error of mainstream christianity. They tell sinners like gays to stop sinning, but they still sin themselves, hypocrites! So pardon the unbelievers for rightly calling you hypocrites.

One of the most basic christian principles is this: "REPENT," ; "Go and Sin NO MORE" Jesus came to save us from our sins, if you are still in your sins, Jesus has not saved you.

If you cannot cease from sin (as the Apostle Peter taught) you will perish, you will not inherit eternal life. Jesus will say to you, "I never knew you, depart from me you worker of iniquity."

The Apostle John said it well, "He that commits sin is of the devil. He that is born of God does not commit sin, for His seed remains in him and he cannot sin."

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;"

IN THIS LIFE, dude, read it again, think, meditate, read it again, think, meditate...

Perhaps they expect us to be perfect. Or maybe they've had some bad experiences with "holier-than-thou" Christians. But, everything you said is true. We all have feet of clay. We all fall short every day. Perhaps some non-Christians will see your question today and learn something about us. Thanks for putting it so well. God bless!

Jesus pronounced it may take place in Matthew 24...Christians are in basic terms messengers...they are truthfully making a Mockery of God, that's why we pray for them and enable God cope with something of those themes. We tell and coach in Righteousness! 2d Peter 3.

Every Christian and other person is a hypocrite to some extent. Christians just realize their need for forgiveness from the Savior and a need to change.
