At this rate it looks like it will. We will never leave Iraq.

Actually the the united states was involved to some capacity from 1945 until 1975. I doubt we will be there that long. The war in Iraq is different in that is is more about terrorist groups. We may not be in Iraq that long but we will for ever be in a battle over terrorism. Our world changed before 9/11 but no one really noticed until then. That is assuming anyone will still be alive in 30 years.

Were had military advisers in Vietnam as early as 1954. The embassy in Saigon was emptied in 1975. Will it take that long to rebuild Iraq? Not likely. We WILL get to a point where the country will be able to take care of itself, or Iraq won't want us there anymore, and we will leave.

Yes it'll last longer than WWII... The war in Afghanistan has already outlasted WWII, already in it's 5th and going on to its 6th year...

If we keep allowing the party of Bush to reign with no checks and balances, then, yes, I believe it will.
