Parakeets have ther own little personalities and like to do what they like to do.The more you handle and hold them the more likely it will be that they will start to get more and more used to you,so spend as much time with them as you can.It should be fine if you get 2 females, you will hear a lot more churping for a while though.Parakeets are social birds so they like a lot of company, even though some birds might fight a little at first until they get used to eachother.

If I were you I would get 1 more and try to tame that one instead of the pair that have bonded together. Spend lots of time with the keet and let them get used to your hand. It's easier to tame one that is alone rather than two that have bonded to each other. talk to the bird, try to feed the bird. Let the bird taste your fingers if they don't bite too hard. I've had 1 parakeet for 9 days and this is the first parakeet i've ever tried to tame. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions. =)

You did not state how those birds have been housed. Are all of them interior an identical cage together? if so, you would be extra suited off seperating them into their very very own cages so as that they are extra apt to bond with you and not one yet another. you will ought to coach each and every chook seperately so this could take it sluggish, you will not be able to be in a rush by using fact the birds will experience this and alter into stressful and not desire to bond with you. So be as comfortable as achieveable and in case you experience your self starting to be impatient, then end the preparation consultation. in the experience that your birds wing's are actually not trimmed then i could try this for the preliminary preparation era, take them on your vet or puppy shop as birds have blood feathers that could lead on them to bleed to loss of life in case you decrease one accidently and while you're actually not responsive to this then that's superb to have somebody else instruct you the way. I additionally propose clicker preparation, there's a Yahoo team called BirdClick that i'm offering a link to.
