Yorkies just like any other dog breed are in heat for 3 weeks. You will need to watch her very very carefully during this time to make sure she doesn't get bred.

3 weeks cause i have two Yorkie's and i deal with a lot of that stuff. It is so sad cause you will experience your Yorkie have real tears in their eyes and the will become more sensitive and aggressive. I hope this helps out some people!!

Oh yay... another backyard greeder in the making! Let's all dance!! If you don't know the answer to such a basic question then my dear, you shouldn't be breeding. Are your dogs champions? Have they had all health clearances? Are they temperament tested? Do you have a breed mentor? Do you have several thousand dollars in your banking account to help pay for the things that could (and most likely WILL) go wrong? Do you have buyers all lined up for the puppies? If you answered no to any of these questions, YOU HAVE NOT EARNED THE RIGHT TO BREED. Please use your head and have your dogs spayed & neutered. Questions like this make my head hurt.

Any dog is in heat for about 3 weeks. The second week is the best time in the cycle to have her bred. If you don't want pups, please have her spayed.
