It does matter according to your digestive system. You should drink water 30-45 min before meals, never with your meals and 1-2hrs after a meal ( depends on how fast or proficient you digestive system is). When you drink water with your meals, you are diluting the digestive enzymes in your stomach & they cant perform their proper function in breaking down the foods you consume. When drinking water with meals, your stomach releases the liquid into the digestive tract first (which contains your enzymes too), which then leaves food in your stomach without the natural enzymes to digest the food for you, so the process takes longer. Taking a natural plant source of enzymes with your meal may help.

It doesn't matter. Not at all. And it DOES NOT "dilute your gastric enzymes". Total bullsh!t.
You don't need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. You certainly don't need 1/2 your body weight (in oz.) per day. You don't need ANY arbitrary target amount per day.
Drink when you're thirsty. Period! Don't live your life trying to accomplish something that has no scientific validity and is just an old wives' tale!!

For crying out loud. Use some sense. Anytime you feel like it. If you don't believe this is the correct answer, you need to spend the next thirty or forty years studying animals. They drink when the need water and, if not messed with by modern man, survive fit and healthily.

i really don't think it matters, as long as you drink 8 8oz. glasses a day. 10 if you want to lose weight better. drink one before a meal to fill yourself up.
