It's in Eastern Europe wedged between Romania and the Ukraine. Iit is the smallest (and possibly most obscure) of the former Soviet Republics. They have a number of issues to deal with as a country, include a confusing border dispute/breakaway faction which the Ukrainians are involved in.

Moldova is a country in eastern Europe bordering Romania and Ukraine. My friend is from Moldova and he speaks russian, however most moldovans speak moldovan which is almost exactly the same as romanian

It is located between Romania to the west and Ukraine to the east. Wikipedia gives a good definition.
