Do not get your hair thinned! They use scissors that cut off pieces of hair close to your scalp, when it starts to grow back you will have hair sticking up all over the place, it can also split. If they thin it to much you will be in serious trouble and it will takes years to fix. Don't have a razor used on it either, it will look to thin and frayed and split, I've had that happened. Try layers and have the ends point cut.

I haven't had a problem when I've had my hair thinned (I have thick hair that won't lay "flat" in a style otherwise, sometimes even layering isn't enough). As long as you keep up the style, and take good care of your hair with conditioners etc., it should be fine.

Totally untrue. I have very, very thick hair too (but mine is wavy). If I don't get my hair thinned, its too heavy to keep any style. My stylist always thins out my hair a bit so it will keep the shape of whatever hairstyle I'm sporting.

It's not bad at all... it depends on how vain you are. If your older and your hair is naturally thinning in comparison to what it was like then you might have a problem. However, if your young, do what makes YOU feel comfortable. Any good hair stylist will assist and take care of you.

I have it thinned when I layer it at a stylist, and I have never heard that it is bad. It grows back thicker eventually. It won't last forever. My hair is thick, and I have it thin, and it goes back quite soon.

I even have consistently had skinny hair, and that i've got colored it lots. it continues to be a similar and it hasn't replaced. it is not undesirable and there are a number of types for skinny hair. long hair isn't one in all them regrettably, until eventually you have a spiral perm or a layered look. do no longer situation. skinny hair is as eye-catching as thick hair. i'm helpful you look truthfully cute with your new shrink nevertheless! It basically takes it sluggish to get used to a clean shrink and in case you had layers shrink on your hair, it somewhat is going to look to be thinner, yet as quickly because all of it grows back, it would be thick returned. wish this helps!

I think the traditional thinning that is done is where they use a razor type tool and scrape along the hair, which is damaging. You'll wind up with frizzy, damaged strands. Try asking for a few longer layers cut in...

No it isn't. My friend gets her hair thinned every time she gets her hair cut. She has to because of her extremely thick hair.

I always get mine thinned. I have tons of hair. If I didn't do it, it would be a wild mess. I have layers though, so having it thinned isn't as big a deal as someone who might want all one length.

it does not hurt your hair to get it thinned out. My hair is so thick I have to get it thinned. and belive me if I did not get it thinned I would look like I had a powder poof on my head.
