There are yahoo groups for survivors of all sort of abuse but you can get help/advices in other places too. Just be VERY careful Internet is full of pervs and the last thing you want is someone using your past against you.
Remember be CAREFUL!
Also, sorry to say that but you prolly will never forget. What you can do is work on it and make it so it wont affect your life (too much) anymore.
Good luck.

I know exactly how you feel. I too was raped at a young age. Believe me, it is something you will never forget. You just learn how to live with it. But, first, you need to tell your parents and let them help you. That will be your first step in recovery, is by telling someone. I don't know what would happen if you talked with the police. The police where I live are not people I respect at all. They would ask you, why did you wait until now to say anything if it really happened. That sort of stuff. Next, I would recommend to get into counseling. I got into counseling at a older age and still go at times for different reasons, but the rape will still come up at times. It has helped me so very much to talk about it and other things. As I said, you never forget rape, but you will learn how to live with it and to be able to go on with your life. I will be thinking about you ALOT and hope everything goes good for you. Please tell your parents first and get the ball to rolling for you to have a more easier life. With love!!!!

I am so sorry that happened to you..Well, I wasn't raped but Oprah Winfrey was raped as a child--and she says to women who were raped as kids, "You are not a victim--you are a Survivor".
Maybe you should get counseling for now, or join a Support Group in you area. You can actually get Counceling for free or at low cost at your local Hospital if they have a Mental Health Service Department. Call your local hospital tomorrow..
After that, maybe you can tell your Mom about this. I don't know who raped you--but maybe your family should know that he is a Predator. If he was many years older than you, he might be still doing this to young kids in your family or other people's family--so you have to get yourself strong again. Terry Hatcher from Desperate Housewives was raped as a child--and years later that same guy raped a little girl and she committed suicide--so Terry testified and put him in jail...
This was NOT your fault. And You Are Not Alone.
That was Not sex--it was a violent act. Get help soon--you'll feel so much better. Good Luck.

Start talking. Tell everyone. Make a police report even if it's past the statute of limitations. If you think you'll need protection, see to it. Don't just forget it and let him get away with it.

you can try telling the police, tell family about what he did to you. Such a thing should never be kept secret for so long, so i think your family really needs to know what he did. i also suggest you try counseling since you have most likely never talked to anyone about this, it will help you to deal with it if you went into counseling.

Get yourself some counseling, and notify the police. There is no statue of limitations for rape.

You need to find someone you can talk to. It's not good to keep it bottled up inside. That's why you can't get over it. Talk about it.
