She thinks she's human. My cat used to do that, until I got her one of those huge 20oz coffee cups and now she's cool.

Let her think she's getting away with drinking out of your cup!

Perhaps she doesnt like drinking out of the fountain. She may be confused or scared of it. Try getting her just a regular bowl with water in it as this is what they are used to in the wild etc. As for knocking over glasses of water she may be doing this because she is unhappy with her own water supply and is trying to get water some other way. Either this or she is bored (my horse does the same thing).

Because she is a cat, she has to have some distinctive behaviour for you to puzzle over. That is what cats do best. It seems that cats that have some Siamese in them love to rub around things and are endlessly curious. My cat (15 years old) will drink out of anything except a water bowl.

If the water you are serving is very fresh and chlorinated, she may be avoiding the chlorine. A lot of cats prefer the water to stand until the chlorine is gone and some like the water straight from the tap...or toilet! Go figure.

Perhaps your water is fresher than hers? Some bowls, such as plastic, can change the taste of the water (yes even the fountain) try switching her to a ceramic or heavy glass bowl for her water.

A lot of cats hate their water bowls because they arent attracted to stagnant water, hence why dogs/cats like to play with the toilet water or faucet.

Try getting a drinking dish that has a filter or pump.

Or it could be an attention thing.

It is simply a game. She is not going to stop. So i would quit putting glasses out. Or get a spay bottle and put it on spay not mist and blast it's face when it gets close. This isn't mean but it does work. Cats hate water, but they are baffled by it. how funny

I have a cat who wont drink water unless I have a running faucet.
My friend says it is your attentions she wants. And it could be she thinks that it is better water because it is yours.
