daily work sheets are much less expensive that textbooks but I'm wondering if they're both good, are textbooks much better than daily work sheets? or are they the smae?

Take the Text Books. Mainly because all the pages are bound together, the sheets can and do, get lost or misplaced easily.

Both, and no daily work sheets are not even close to being the same as textbooks.

What kind of program are you in "university bound honours" or basic skills or the general program?

Second hand text books are somewhat cheaper than new textbooks unless the teacher keeps changing the texts he/she uses.
