Go watch the movie 'Fahrenheit 451'
In it there is nothing substantial you can do because the world is in control by the people that control the computers.
In my day (god I love sayng that) we could advance the timing as much as we wanted to make the engine "lope"
Sounded good at an idle and made the unit perform at its best but tended to burn holes in the tops of the pistons if you left it that way too long.
I knew one kid that made a split ---- split exhaust.. He was running a Chevy OHV 6 (I bet you don't ever know what a flat head is).
Anyhow..... He had a pull cable.... when the cops weren't around he would pull the cable and the exhaust by passed the muffler system.
It was then a straight exhaust out a header piped just behind the front wheels..
LOUD??? hell there was no muffling system. POWER??? Was the fastest 6 in school because he bypassed the muffler. TICKETS? He got plenty cause the local cops could hear him a mile away.
But he loved it. We loved it cause he was the only one that could run stright pipe....

The only major set back is, a v-8 is a v-8 and a v-6 is a v-6, but thats just a good start. A v-6 can outperform a v-8 if properly tuned. Reason being a v-6 can achieve higher rpms faster than a v-8 because it has a shorter stroke. Buy a cold air intake system which will increase airflow. Purchase a larger mass air-flow sensor which will increase your air-flow which the pcm will will compensate for after you install it. Purchase a superchips downloader which will increase the horsepower 25 to 30 percent.

if you want v8 sound you need to buy the v8, don't skimp out here. Not that there's anything wrong with a v6 but I had one for 2 years and spent a lot of money making it look and sound like a gt and it didn't come close. Now I have a 2005 mustang gt and the beast sounds mean with my borla mufflers

A v-6 and v-8 have very distinct sounds as you might have guessed. But the quieter you make your car, the more they sound alike. But you want to make it louder, you'll only make your 'stang sound more like the v-6 it has. The 3.8 that's in your car isn't the best-sounding motor either, but most sixes aren't. Concentrate on quieting down your exhaust or getting a car with the five liter v-8.

Get a Borla Catback system..or even flowmaster catback...
get a cold air intake
get headers
get exhaust.
that should do it :) now of course it wont sound like a v8 with those modifications..but will sound close to the stock v8 sound

Put dual exhaust, a high performance cam shaft and either get a supercharger or a turbo.
