Make sure that you only get whey protein and not soy protein. Soy is extremely dangerous to your health.

You are scared by whey protein? You do realize that whey (like in "curds and whey" like in the old nursery rhyme) is what babies grow up on. Whey is an all natural milk extract, with the fat and water removed. Nothing dangerous there.

Protein powder can be safe. Though the best advice is to consult your physician about this first and find out what would be best for you in terms of your work out goals. You might also want to research the ingredients in the protein powder to make sure that if side effects occur, they're not going to hurt you in any way. Besides, you're doing this for your health, might as well be safe about it too.

Yes its safe to take protein powders. I am currently on Whey protien for past 8 months and its given me some good results. Remember to have plenty of water during the day, it will help you wash off excess protien out... Ask your instructor for the best one according to the excersises and your body type..

My first question to you is what is your regiment and what program are you on? Lets start there.
When taken correctly you do not have any worries; when taken too much in one session it can make you overly bloated and not the full feeling you should be getting.

Look forward to further updates.

Just make sure it's soy protein. Also, talk to people who have taken them and ask on their side effects.
