No. Tinky Winky is male. The man who played him did some horrible stuff once and it was all over the papers. Tinky Winky and Dipsy are men, Lala and Po are female.

Dont think they have a gender they are just 'teletubbies'. Both my kids liked them, dipsy was a favourite cause he was a real funky dancer! My Dad always did his bit for equal rights by saying "Tinky winky, oh the poof with the hand bag and skirt!" Cheers Dad.

Teletubbies is a fun programme, with characters that could be anything a child wants, why do we adults have to put things in boxes. any way, tinky winkey = male, Dipsy = Male, La La = Female, Po = Female. have you never dressed up in female clothes, think hard to your pre-school years, or would you NEVER go to a fancy dress as a female? at my place of work, with children 0-5yrs,the boys often dress up in dresses and then play pirates in them, broaden your horizon get a dress you could start with a nightdress so know one sees you.

i thought that they were all male except lala but po sometimes acts like a girl and tinky winky is gay because he is a male that carries a handbag!!!
