I am a Christian. I do not beleive in Same Sex Marriages. I am a patriot. I beleive America must remain free for all people regardless of sex, race, religion, or sexual preferences? If two persons of the same sex want to get married, they should be aloud to do so in this country, I beleive that God will Judge them for their actions, but how do I balance that in a political spectrum without infringing on my rights as a Christian to practice my faith? How do I balance my political and religous views without persecuting others??

Hate the sin, and love the sinner seems to be the solution, but this is much easier said then done...

Maybe for you the best solution would be to support same-sex civil unions, rather than marriages. For Christians, marriage is seen as a spiritual sacrament, and has distinctly religious connotations.

A civil union would give same-sex couples all the legal rights which (I believe) they deserve, while not giving them the same social/religious status as an actual marriage.

I am in the same boat.

But Ive solved it..... either don't get involved, remember that this country of freedom was built on Christianity or choose a side.

However, seeing as though this question is still a issue id say we haven't found a true solution, but i think no matter what someone will always disagree with something, and not every one will always be happy, it is kind of the problem of life and freedom.

All in all, yes we just have to try to hate the sin but love the sinner and keep forgiving.

What they ask for is a special right, not an equal one. You can also debate this issue based on the "slippery slope" principle. Once a decision has been made to let your morals down a little bit, the slide will continue. Take this test: Using your logic we cannot deny polygamous marriages either right? Building on that logic it would just be stupid to deny inter-species marriages. Take one more little baby step, lower the consent laws, and now we have no legal basis to deny the "right" to marry children. You may say: "No, that would never happen". Well, many people in my day said the same thing about allowing minor curse words on television. But we have slid into a swamp of moral decay on television so bad that normal T.V. now looks like the HBO of twenty years ago.

You have answered your question but the trouble is you dont seem to be following your faith. If you were a true believer you should not persecute or have a problem with any sinners. You should accept the beliefs or others but not set it in your doctrine. There is many things i cannot accept about people but as long its not hurting anyone why should it be such a problem. You are making me start to think that all religious believers are nothing but bigots. With your opinions it not much wonder there is so many wars. How can it be a problem just remember if you inflict sufffering on others how will God judge you. Open your mind and stop thinking your beliefs should be inflicted on others just keep your faith.

You practise your faith and belief in God (Jesus Christ), pray, read your Bible, and leave other people alone and to the judgements of God (Jesus Christ)! If you read your Bible more often and communicate to God (Jesus Christ) you won't spend so much time judgeing others! We as believers and faith in God (Jesus Christ) are not suppose to! If you read - you would know this - all answers are there! Pray for situations and circumstances you do not understand - don't judge! Be concerned with your own Soul and what you're to do with your life in service to God (Jesus Christ), others, and society! Same sex marriage may not be your cross to bare (sin) - but you sin and will until you die! That's the only thing that you can truly straighten out - YOU!

Love is the definition that needs expanded on in this thought. Is it "love" to tell somebody "I don't care" what you do? Love is caring for others.

If you look at facts on male homosexuality, you'll see that 30% of 20 year old male homosexuals will be dead or have AIDS by the time they turn 30.

Engaging in male to male sexual contact carries a 100 times greater risk to contract AIDS per year, than heterosexual intercourse.

Knowing that the actions people take will ultimately lead to their death and "not caring" is not love. Love would be attempting to reach out and warn of the dangers of male to male sexual contact.

Accepting the union of 2 males would stand in direct opposition to loving them. Love can sometimes mean not allowing people to do what they want, if the action is proven to hurt them.

God in his infinite wisdom gave us free will.
Knowing that some would choose the wrong way.
Now if he can do that, why can't we as puny humans with sins of our own.
God will judge sinners and I to believe that is a sin.
But it says judge not lest ye be judged.
Why doesn't everyone quit being a bunch of control freaks and just mind their own business.

You are entitled to your opinon . . . personally, I think the family is at stake and rewriting marriage laws will destroy families. I have gay friends whom I am sure do not agree with me, but I do think trying to be all inclusive and totally politically correct will lead to the downfall of our country. So far, the only winners I have really seen in the gay marriage scenario are the divorce lawyers.
