Oh man...you are toasted!
Of course is a serious thing...we women share feelings and it doesnt matter that you never went out with her..the thing is she need someone to be by her side and she thought you were her best choice...if it´s a relative...she thinks in you as her protector and savior and if it´s not a relative...she wants someone to go with her and she choose you.
In both cases she was thinking about you and she wants something serious with you..and she is sharing her feelings ..dont dissapoint her

Well, a few things to consider: if you haven't been out on a non-funeral-home-related date before and she asks you to accompany her to a funeral it could mean a few things: a) she feels comfortable introducing you to her family b) she seeks moral support through her grief and figures you're the type of person that could provide such and maybe more c) she seeks moral support and considers you in the "friend zone". Either way, just go. Interesting FYI regarding dates and funerals: did you know that attending funerals as a mean of meeting single people (and get married) what very popular and well accepted back in the 1800-1900's? IN fact , a lot of people back then would go to weddings, funerals and church services in order to find a compatible spouse -- given it was a time where the great revolution of industrialization had barely started, people did n't have a lot of expandable time to spend outside of the house/work to flirt their way into matrimony.

The women actually asked you to meet her at a funeral? That's ridiculous. I would not worry if it's serious business (of course it is)......what I'd be worried about is whether she's got a screw loose.

That's totally weird if you guys aren't dating yet. Definitely serious business for a long term relationship. If this is your first meeting my advice is: make it your last! Run away, run away!!

I'd say no brother. I think that If she's asked you to go to a funeral with her she's thinking of you as more of a friend

yes it is serious but she probably considers you to be her best friend . losing a relative is a very tough thing to go thru on your own . she probably wants you there for moral support.

It means she wants someone she can trust to give her emotional support. Her family is suffering their on grief and she needs someone that is not suffering grief to help her through it. Are you up to the task.
