Not if they are truely "stainless"... if they're getting rust on them...
A) they've been scratched and the stainless steel coating isn't protecting the material exposed through the scratches... try cleaning it (NOTHING abrasive, try a soft scrub of some type), then buff it with a wax to seal out the humidity in the air.
B) you've been had... check your warantee, etc, see if you have any recourse.
Good luck.

New stainless steel products are no longer made of nickel and chrome alloys. Mostly, they're just plated with chrome. After some heavy brushing, the plating material is removed and the plain steel (sometimes just galvanized iron) is exposed to oxigenate and rust.
If warranty conditions don't apply:
Remove the rust with machine oil. Dry it, paint on those kind of silicon type of quick drying glue, and then spray on aerosol chrome paint. Wait till it dries completely before using. Thence, clean your kitchen with just soft soap and sponge to keep it shining. Don't clean anymore with strong acid.

the appliances should have a warranty on them.
check on that and also with the store you purchased them from. recently biught a range from home depot that was damaged when it was delivered. The store replaced the parts the same day to avoid any delay in my using it and having to go thru the warranty company.

No way should it be rusting, unless you're doing amateur chemistry in your kitchen. Return that stuff and get a refund if you can.
