It looks tacky everywhere I see people congregating to smoke. They seem like poor, downtrodden, second-class citizens. But where else can they smoke? It's banned practically everywhere. Where would you have them smoke? Inside the church during service?

Kind of. When I was at a wedding last week I waited until the church was out of sight before I lit up. It seems like the equivalent of smoking around babies.

I don't smoke and never have, but I have many friends who smoke, Christian and non-Christian. It is a weakness the same as many others. Mine happens to be overeating, and eating the wrong things. I know it's bad for me, I know should treat my body with more respect, and I know that God can help me to conquer that weakness IF I let Him, and rely on Him to help me, but I haven't yet. People who smoke don't all want to be there smoking. It's a nasty habit, it makes them smell like a dirty ash tray, and it isolates them from everyone else, but I won't judge them for being there. I feel sorry for them because I know it isn't easy for them.

At first glance it might, but remember we all have thorns we deal with in life. Not sure what yours might be, but no one is without some weakness. Pray for them, I am sure they wouldn't mind the prayers to overcome this habit.

Smokers can go to church, you know.

What do you expect smokers to do?....Smoke INSIDE?

It's just church. It's not like the Vatican or something.
