I'm a social worker for CPS and if you have concerns of child abuse, you should tell an adult and have them contact their state CPS hotline.

This is a very hard and serious question. I would sit down with your Auntie (are you living with her and your Uncle?) and tell her your fears. Many times children who are being abused will deny it. However, depending on the scars and what they look like might tell another story. Do they seem to have lots of accidents, like falling down or running into things more than most kids do? Being afraid of adults and being afraid of doing something wrong might be an indication of abuse but, you don't have to make that decision. Another suggestion is if they go to the same church as you do, is to speak to the pastor of your church. He might be able to help too. The main thing is to talk with an adult that YOU trust and tell them your fears and have them try and help the children. If they are being abused, then your friends can get help.

They might be getting abused, but it's not definite. If you feel that Deon'te trusts you, you should sit down with him and ask if anything is going on with their parents. Ask if they ever hit them, or yell for a long time. If he opens up to you, and admits that he is being abused, tell your parents or another adult you trust right away. Adults know how to do deal with it.

this is very serious, but at the same time a hard one to anwser. you should let your parents know about the scars and the way the children act when adults are around. maybe call child line and get better advice there is obviously a problem of some sort but it is not nessasserly the parents doing the abusing, dont jump befor you talk to your parents.

What kind of scars are you talking about? If it is something that looks suspicious (child couldn't have done it themselves) or there is a suspicious story that goes along with it (something is said that you don't think would have caused such scars) then you would be safer reporting it. From your description, it sounds as if the chidren have an abnormal fear of their parents... could be that they are punished severely. Talk to your parents about it. If your parents feel that the situation warrants help, have them contact the local Child Protective Services.

Is possible, that sounds just like when I was little and helpless. My father was physically abusing us and we did show signs of it. Talk to someone that can help, not your parents they won't do crap (sorry but is true) try a neighbor or a teacher (it doesn't has to be their teacher, yours is fine). We got out of the abuse because we talked, but some kids are very afraid and wont do it themselves...is time to talk for their sake...

It could be you should mention it to a councilor at your school because they have to report anything they think may be abuse. Or just tell someone. I'm sorry for your friends and for you to be in the middle. That is a lot on someones sholders. I hope everything works out.

Absolutely. I would not hesitate for a single second before calling every damn department, DHS, the cops, the DA and anyone else I could. If you do not, you will, in a great way, be a contributor to their abuse.

most likely they are abused and dont let them go home.let them stay over your house for some time. call the police and tell them to examine them and get the truth out of them. talk to your friends tell them that u want to know what the deal is and that you wont tell nobody but the police. tell them that if you tell him they will never be able to get abused again. just make sure the police dont send them back home. do what you can. if their really your friends make sure of it.
