flea and tick shampoo is very harsh on a dog's sensitive skin. It should only be used when necessary. I suggest you only use it on your puppy when he actually has a lot of fleas or ticks. This shampoo will NOT prevent your puppy from getting fleas and ticks, all it does is kills them if your dog has them. Try using a flea comb (you can find one at Petsmart) and comb it through your puppy's hair to take out any fleas he might have. Also you can add a small amount of garlic to your puppy's food to help repel fleas. After you are able to use flea/tick drops on your puppy i highly advise you to switch to a different kind of shampoo instead of flea/tick shampoo. And then only bathe your dog once a month or else his skin will dry out and flake.

You don't have to bathe a puppy at all, and then only if it is dirty. Use water only, or a very mild soap, or even a hair rinse or conditioner. Unless the animal has parasites, don't treat it for anything. You should keep it away from things right now. All those sprays and collars and powders etc. don't work at all. Use the new topical treatment like Advantage and Frontline, and only if there are signs of fleas and ticks, and then go ahead and use it. A drop or two, whatever is needed to work.

It would depend on what you are using and what type of puppy you have. My vet recommended an oatmeal based shampoo for our small Chihuahuas. We use it even on the adults. Our teacup weighs 3 pounds and we bathe her once a week. If he is outside, try keeping him inside for a few hours and spraying your lawn with some flea and tick killer you can purchase at your local Lowe's or Home Depot...maybe even wal-mart. My parents did this for their dog and she never got ticks. They bathe her (a Schnauzer) weekly as well.

Flea and tick shampoos contain chemicals that are toxic to dogs and should not be used only as a last resort. Use frontline on your dog as this is safe.

If you add some crused garlic to your dogs food source you will have much less fleas to contend with. The shampoo may prove to cause other skin irritations due to the ingredients being chemical. Only add a small amount of garlic at first. Good luck.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7D1
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Hi,, go to your local vet or vet supply company.... get some Frontline ... make sure you have the right weight of the puppy,,, too much will make him sick or die..... apply the frontline on the back of the neck and hip area......I promise you ,,,, this works for about 2 or more months.... they make it for fleas and ticks..and mosquitoes.... dont forget to get him or her on a heart worm medicine also when he is a little older......
good luck
