ICT is the technology like routers and Internet backbones etc. It is all the products that carry communications. There are allot of jobs in the field. But unfortunately allot of the jobs are being farmed out to places like India. There are still jobs in it for people that maintain the systems here.

The latest technologies are VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) which the average landline phone will soon fall the way of, and develpments in mobile and wireless communications. I would start with VoIP, then work into wireless.
