nothing I know of stops this. you said they were fixed that's the best I know. Had this problem, never solved it. Some cats are trainable with a spray bottle of water. when doing a "bad" behavior spray cat in face with water. they don't like it and may get the point. Lye will take care of the smell. And pet stores have other items for helping with the smell. They even have some products that claim to help stop the problem but I never did try them

I need more information really. Is the cat male or female.? Is it the only cat or do you have another? Most important, is the cat fixed? The 2 main reasons for spraying is to mark terratory and sexual. Males are the usual culprits Fixing the cat usually stops the behavior but the age of the animal enters into it.Also multi cat households are more likely to encourage this behavior as the offending animal is trying to establish dominance. Fixing helps

Is your cat spayed/neutered? Getting your cat fixed might help, but it doesn't work as well if the behaviour has already started. How old is your cat? Ask your vet what he/she thinks.

You probably already know this, but your cat is most likely marking his territory (I assume your cat is male, females also ocassionally spray though). A cat is less likely to feel so territorial if it is fixed.

Spraying is teritory thing, usually for marking to attract females and warn other males to stay away.If your cat is not fixed, doing so will help. Otherwise just rub his face in it and spack him on the back side(like a kid) and he will stop if you keep showing him that it is wrong.
