Having multiple partners does NOT CAUSE HIV. Having multiple partners with one of whom is infected can TRANSMIT the HIV virus from another person to her. Further, she could spread it to one of the other partners and not know it. Further, if one of the partners had HIV from sharing needles or having had sex with someone who shared needles with an infected person then she could get HIV. Your end question "if a girl had sex with 10 men who do not have HIV she won't get HIV." That is a true question. Just one thing -- MEN LIE!!! One of the 10 could have HIV and know it but lies about it. If the girl is you and you have had sex with 10 men - 1. stop having sex 2. get tested for HIV 3. get tested for other STD's as well. 4. Grow Up! Take some pride in yourself and get a life that does not revolve around sex.

HIV is a Viral INFECTIOUS DISEASE. When a disease is infectious, that means that it is contagious, from person to person in some manner. It doesn't just all of the sudden appear out of no where just because you are doing something. It means that you got infected from someone else.
HIV is transmitted from bodily fluid to bodily fluid. One way of getting HIV is by having unprotected sex with an INFECTED person. Another way to contract HIV is by using an infected needle. Drug addicts tend to share needles in order to inject drugs directly into their blood. IF one of the people sharing the needle is infected and then an uninfected person uses the same needle then it is very likely they will infected.
The viral genetic (RNA and DNA) information is in the cell combined with the genetic information of the person (DNA). The Viral DNA is transmitted in the cell into the blood stream of the uninfected person.
The coat of skin inside the vagina and or the anus is very fragile. It is very easy to break. If people are having unprotected sex, the fragile skin is exposed, the virally infected cells get into those cuts and go to the blood stream of that person (reproducing and spreading more virus).

To answer your question clearly, NO anal sex is NOT the cause of HIV. Anal sex is just a very risky way. The skin/tissue inside the anus is even more fragile then in the vagina. Because of this increase in fragility it is even more likely that you will contract the disease from someone infected.
For whomever this question is for, know this, you should know a lot more about sex and STD's BEFORE HAVING SEX AGAIN. Also get your self tested no matter what, because before you have sex with any new partner you should get yourself tested for all STDs. And finally ALWAYS USE A CONDOM!!!!

No
If the partners are not infected HIV will not create itself just by anal sex. During sex It is always transmitted from one person to another whether the sex was anal, oral or vaginal. It is not true and also not true that oral sex is safe even if one sex partner is infected. Of course infection can happen outside sexual activity by other means e.g. using infected syringe for IV injection; common with drug use and abuse.

How can you get HIV if both partners are clean?

ANY sex is dangerous with an HIV infected person

Anal sex may be worse because there would be skin tears and possible bleeding

One of the main causes of HIV in the world is the Catholic church. Around 63% of people living with HIV are in sub-Saharan Africa, bishops there argue that the battle against HIV/Aids should be fought on moral grounds and said condoms helped spread the disease.

No. One of the people involved must be infected in order for the other to get infected. The reason anal sex is considered more risky than vaginal is because the anus is more likely to tear or get abbrasions during intercourse.
