Yes you can keep you decision to become a vegetarian.
The only problem you are going to run into is the fact at the mess hall you will not have a big selection but they will still have things such as salads and vegatables so it wont be to bad.
Another thing is when you start eating MREs there isnt a whole lot of choice in those. You basically just pick from the box and stick to whatever meal you get and let me say trying to just eat there crackers (cardboard) is not going to taste good. Dont worry to much though because they do have vegetarian MREs there just not as easy to come by.

My Platoon Sergeant in the National Guard did it, but he had to bring a lot of his own food.
Your biggest hurdle will be getting through basic when you won't have as much access to supplementing your diet on your own.
If you want to you can do it, but you might not get much help from the Air Force. They won't tell you you can't (except maybe in basic), but they won't go out of their way to help you either.
The only reason they will tell you you can't be a vegetarian is if you are underweight and have vitamin deficiencies. I had a friend who was on double rations in Marine Boot Camp because he was underweight (and, yes, they did check on him to make sure he didn't cheat).

easily doable. In fact, it's common opinion that the vegetarian MREs are the tastiest ones of the bunch.
There would, of course, be instances where you would be VERY limited in your choices, and may have to live on Peanut butter and lettuce, but it's certainly possible.
I have known many vegetarians and vegans in the military.

Yes the military does not restict your diet unless you need to lose weight. Many of my friends arer marines and navy and they are still a vegetarian. You might get teased but thats about it.

Sure it's possible. But you won't get much variety, and you better take vitamins.
I don't think the military wants vegans, because they are opinionated and don't follow orders well.
Do us all a favor, and remain a civilian.
