I'm hopeless at grilling steaks, and my husband brought home 2 inch and a half thick, bacon wrapped filets. Please give specific time and temp. Thanks.

Already wrapped in bacon....hmmm....personally, I would secure the bacon onto the fillet with toothpicks (that've been soaked in water for a long time so they don't burn)...On the grill, preferably, charcoal. medium - medium high heat; salt and pepper top/bottom. about 3 minutes on each side for medium rare, maybe a little more, it's pretty thick....

Cut a clove of garlic in half. Rub, cut side down, over the filets. Sprinkle (both sides now) with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Drizzle with olive oil, spread oil lightly to cover the filets completely. Grill until desired doneness. Place on a platter and top with a pat of butter. Let sit for 5 minutes until butter melts. Medium rare is my preference as this is such a tender and flavorful cut of beef. Touch is more important than time. Touch the fleshy part of your hand between thumb and forefinger, that's what medium rare should feel like. Remember it will still continue to cook for a few minutes after you remove it from the grill. This is called 'residual cooking'.

Good luck and good eating.

If you want them to be really juicy, cook them in a smoking hot iron skillet.
Heat the skillet on high until you can see whiffs of smoke. Throw in a handful of salt (preferably Kosher) and then put the filets on top of the salt. Cook about 7 minutes. Turn with tongs, never a fork. Cook 7 minutes on the other side. You should have a nice medium to medium rare steak. Let them rest a minute before cutting into them and losing all the juice.
