How does someone with a B1 visa go about getting work authorization. what is the best way to go about it and how m uch does it all cost

There is a lot you haven't mentioned: for example, your B1 visa allowed you to travel to the US on business only; will you still be working for the same employer but in the US branch office? Did you quit your employer and are looking for another job? I ask because there are a number of different kinds of "work" visas - but most are oversubscribed and very hard to get. It takes a couple of years to get an employment-based immigrant visa. And you cannot get a working visa and then look for a job: you must have the job offer first.

Also, depending on your nationality, there are a few special programs you might use.
