Ugh ****! I sorta got a hicky this weekend. I am in the military...so I will get in trouble if they see this thing while in uniform. It's not terribly dark, but you can see it. My makeup does not cover it. How do I hide these things.

Good Advice...will get ya 10 points.

vinegar is the best that I found. it works fast. I had one that was very purple and it took 1.5 days to disappear. so you could imagine how fast it would work for you.
use a spoon or comb. dip it in the vinegar and rub on the area. the more you do this, the faster it will disappear.
good luck.

Accidents happen, and a passionate kiss can lead to that telltale mark of love: a hickey. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about this affliction. A hickey is nothing more than a bruise, and like all bruises it just needs some time to heal. You can, however, try a few tricks to make it fade faster.

Steps:
1. Apply a cold compress immediately (although that may interrupt a moment of passion). Keep the compress on 20 minutes, off 20 minutes. The cold will constrict blood vessels and help keep the bruise from spreading.

2. If the hickey lasts for more than 48 hours, apply wet, warm compresses to decrease any pain or swelling. Once the blood has stopped spreading around the bruise, apply heat, which dilates blood vessels and thus speeds up the sweeping away of blood cells. In most cases, moist heat is more effective than dry heat, because the moisture helps wick the heat beneath the skin.

3. Apply concealer in a shade that's lighter than your natural skin color and discreet enough to fend off unwanted attention.

4. Remember that if all else fails, nothing beats a turtleneck sweater - or a scarf in summer.

rub it with rough sand paper till it bleeds, it wont look like a hicky anymore. It will look like you were wrestling in hand to hand trainning and didn't win a match.

you could use a plain bandaid, to cover it or use the technique I suggested. When your D.I. rips off your band aid. and sees the wound isn't a hicky, she/he may just appologize. If you don't do it and just cover up your hicky, you're gonna get a lotta ragging from your D.I. and your peers.

Unless its a huge one, all over you're lower neck, then I'm sorry. you're just gonna have to take it like a soldier. come what may (you're arms are gonna hurt like hell - probly end up doing a thousand push-ups).

The obvious is make-up... but I used to get these in college alot. One of my professors pulled me aside after class one day and told me it wasn't becoming and that I shouldnt allow a man to do that to me. She said that I was basically embarrassing myself, while he walked around w/out humiliation. Anyway... I did listen to her after a while. But until then, I found out the quickest way to get rid of a hickie is to "comb" it out.

Take a comb...and comb the area, using as much pressure as you can bare. Comb this area as often as you can, especially before going to bed... in the morning, you will be surprised at the results. It may not be gone completely, but it will definately be less visible. Good luck.

get a spoon and put it in the freezer, let it get cold and then place it on the hicky... you'll have to repeat the process a couple of time.... that and use a lipstick top, twist it against the hicky a couple of times

You know that air brush stuff you can put on your legs. Find a shade that is close to your skin color. That stuff covers really well and it is water repelant.
