I want to take a picture via my digital camera, then blow it up to apx 3 foot by 2 foot (poster size)

cnet has a list of photo finishers you can send your digital images to who can blow it up that large. just hope your camera has enough pixels to allow for good resolution at that level.

You are going to need a very big file to take a picture that will blow up that big. If you are only going to look at it from a distance and the close up quality is not too important, you can probably go down to a resolution of 100ppi which would give you a file size of around 8 mega bites. It will likely be smaller than that because of file compression and differences in some cameras etc.

Once you have a decent file though, you will need to take it to a pro unless you want to print it in pieces and stick them together.

You don't mention what type of camera you have, but if you dont have a higher MP camera (10-12MP) and its a once-off situation, why don't you just get a pro to take the photo and then get it printed by a printer who has a large format printer? (it might be the most cost effective way)

6 pixel camera is good aiptek one is good for cheap go to kinkos to blow them up turns out ok ./.this one is aiptek has a mp3 player /camera/ webcam /video 144 6 pixels good memeopry add a card plays on ur tv videos u make or u can record a video from the tv and it goes to ur comp as well awesome gadget

You better have a digital SLR or at least a 10 megapixel fixed lens camera or it just ain't happening.

Take it to a proffessional printers?

You could do it at home with a normal A4 printer, but you would have seems everywhere.
