I looked it up, and it said between 100-150 calories in that amount of time.

There are many factors to look at... body weight, physical condition, intensity of exersize, and duration are the primary factors though. To give an idea of the difference one of these factors can make, increasing your heart rate (intensity) from 70% of maximum to 80% can increase calorie consumption by up to three times. To give a rough answer, I (160 lbs, semi-pro athlete) would burn around 200 to 300 calories at 80% heart rate. I should probably point out that the average person probably couldn't maintain this level of intensity, placing the consumption around 75 to 150.

i remember reading somewhere that you can burn, like, 300-400 calories in an hour by hula hooping. i could be wrong, but i remember it being pretty impressive the amount you could lose from an hour.

Its all depends on how fast you sweat. Maybe 100 calories.
