I have a very difficult time going even one day without drinking a Monster or Rock Star energy drink. Some days, I drink 2 or 3. I don't think this is good for me. I've been off drugs and alcohol for almost 7 years...have I replaced these with the energy drinks? Sometimes when I drink them, I feel like I did when I used to use speed.

Can anyone shed some lite on the long term physical affects of what's in them? And has anybody experienced this same addiction?

It's the CAFFINE in the energy drinks my dear!! Yes like anything else you can become dependant on it. Caffine isn't the greatest thing in the world to become dependant on but compared to anything else it's really not that bad.As far as long term effects:

According to the Salt Lake Community College Globe, a University of Maryland at College Park study found that consuming energy drinks with high levels of caffeine -- like Adrenaline, Red Bull and Venom -- can have serious short-term and long-term health effects like irregular heart rate and increased blood pressure.

I used to drink Vault a lot. But I weened myself off of it with Arizona Green Tea. Green Tea may taste a little different when you first start drinking it, but it really is good after a while. I love it.
