Try calling the Financial Aid department at the college she want to attend. There are federal grant programs available she will have to apply. There are Financial Aid clerks available if she needs any help applying. It does not take very long for a response. She should know before she starts the semester.

Well, the first thing both you and she needs to do is apply for PIN numbers, which is a 4-digit number attached to your/her social security number. The PIN will allow you to sign the application electronically so that there are no paper signatures needed. Then she will need to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). All in all it take approximately 10 days to get a PIN back and submit an application to the school. From that point, it's the schools decision if she qualifies for any aid, because it's based on their cost of attendance. If you have any questions contact FSAIC, Federal Student Aid Information Center

Ok you need to go www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply for Federal Aid and it will also apply her for Stafford Loans which will have to be paid back after school is over. Just make sure you apply for the 2006 - 2007 school year and the school of her choice should hear from Federal Aid in two to three days. Any more questions email me at tim_greer1998@yahoo.com I am in college and I dont pay anything and get money back. Also I am on instant messenger.
