Once being tested positive for HIV the first thing would be to seek counseling immediately. Alert family members and sexual partners that have come in contact with HIV and advise them for their own personal safety and it is best they get tested immediately. Due the negative stereotyped idea in our society of HIV individuals, the psyche may not be capable of interpreting one's current situation. Seeking counseling will give all the necessary help, support, love, and encouragement one may need after discovering their acquired illness. They will also ensure your personally safety to make sure you do not inflict bodily harm to yourself and others.

Join a HIV positive community support group to meet other individuals who are also HIV positive and listen to their experiences with having HIV. Find way to alert the community and youth by warning of the dangers of unprotected sex and drugs uses by letting them know that this thing called "H-I-V" is real and it can happen to anyone. If it can happen to the sweetest of people and it can even happen to you!

Always keep mind this is not a curse from god, despite the odds.
Remember that you are never alone in this, despite the odds. Never seek to become bitter and lose all hope, despite the odds.

first, i would make absolute sure i had it, or the dise4as of hiv. then yes, of course, i would have my partner get checked. then i would sit down my family and close friends and let them know. then i would find out as much information i could on alternate medicines and medicines for the treatment and learn how to live with it. society has become a bit more open-minded regarding this disease but still you need to really see who u can and can not express this news with. good luck

i would tell my parents and only my really close friends and i would live life as best as i could and i wouldnt sleep with anybody. I wouldnt tell the rest of my friends until it was my time to go. oh and i wouldnt worry about the small things but i would still do the best to succeed as best as i can.

IF i was a typical gay dude, i'd sleep around with as many guys as possible, live it up until people started to notice I was sick.

Thats what most gay people with AIDS do.

That is the ONLY responsible thing to do - you have to tell all of those you have been with... make a reasonable effort to contact them all.
