Start with eating the "heart-healthy" portion size of Quaker Oats. My husband does this every morning because it increases testosterone, which is helpful for building muscle. Just make sure your workouts are balanced with the proper amount of weight training and cardio. If you start running too soon after losing as much muscle mass as you have, you could risk injury. Be careful!

Start with healthy sized portions of that foods you used to eat + some healthy stuff like carrots and bananas. Then begin with about five min.s of exercise a day like 10 push ups, 10 sit ups and some upper abb rotation. From there you should be able to start increasing to what you were doing before bed rest.
By the way that 10 bucks for dr. phill advice. jk

Ask your doctor to recommend a physical trainer or therapist. It should be covered under your insurance if you have been very sick for a while. Start with a few weight lifting reps., walking before starting to run.
