My husband plays his video (World of Warcraft) for hours and hours! We are in our 20's and used to be active. We would hunt, fish, camp, hang out with friends, etc but now he wants to play his game and nothing else. HELP! He does nothing but play his game, and it has me lazy too. I either sleep more (naps during the day) or get on yahoo answers, watch tv, and I've stopped cleaning the house. It's weird. His lazyness has made me lazy! I actually think it's a subconcious reaction. I'm mad at him for doing nothing, so I'm doing nothing.

I want to go to the gym, join a karate class, fish, hunt, but he wont go with me. How do I get him to stop? He's a full grown man.

FYI, I bought the computer for him just for gaming. It's hooked up to our 42" plasma tv. I can see how it's partially my fault, but still... help!

The question isn't so much do you know someone... it's how can you help me.

Sorry for the confusion.

It's not your fault. He is an adult and he should know there has to be limits on those types of things. My husband is the same way. We are both in our late 20's and we have a child. He is forever playing video games when he could be helping me with more important things. Sometimes I have to shut the video games off in order to even get his attention. Here is my advice, go out and do all of those things you want to do. Maybe find a friends to go to the gym with. Just let him sit there and play. Sonner or later he is going to see that the two of you are growing apart becuase of the games. He will also see that you are looking and feeling better about yourself and hopfully he will want the same for himself. Please, whatever you do, don't let his laziness affect you. You need to do things for yourself. Even if he never changes you will have the satisfaction of knowing you didn't just sit around but instead you got out and did what you have to do for yourself.

I like video games but I'm a guy so its pretty normal... now I like a girl that can hold her own in video games... as look as it's not all they do and they aren't super geeky lol.... People probably think your just trying to be fake when your really just being yourself. But no their is nothing wrong with girls playing video games. It's awesome.

My boyfriend is the same way. (we're both in our 20's) It's really annoying, but I don't think there is anything I can do about it. I'm not his mother, I can't tell him to stop playing his game.

I guess you can try to have a serious conversation with him. If he doesn't listen to you, then just be patient. Hopefully one day he will grow out of it. In the meantime, don't let his laziness affect you. You gotta get out and do something. Let him see how much fun you're having without him. Maybe that'll wake him up.

Yes, my friend is a translator of video games and plays constantly. He and his kids are well adjusted. It's just a hobby. There's nothing wrong with playing video games but balance it out with actual outside exercise. Why not have more sex with him...that'll get him away from the games.

Anyway, playing video games beats watching TV as at least you are using your brain and interacting. Get him to go play online as then he'll interact with other humans.

Honestly i feel sorry for you , because eventually you can't do nothing about it, when they get attached to those stupid things they forget everything around them even the family.. that's how it is now in days. if he doesn't cooperate with you, try to go and do it yourself, do not bother just move and take action, I'm pretty sure that he won't notice. those stupid games are like jail, they're worst than drugs. i wish you good luck and girl ! just do what you have to do, don't wait enjoy life in a safe way... god bless.

Yeah, my fiance. He produces video games all day at work then comes home and plays. As we speak he's playing Dragon Ball Z with our 9 year old. I am just thankful he has a hobby that keeps him home with me!
