i have surgery on wed for a ganglion cyst. the top of my ahnd and thumb and index finger are numb is this normal after surgery? will it go away andy answers will help thanks

Usually there is some numbness after having a ganglion cyst removed. It can be caused by the swelling pushing against a nerve or the cyst was very close to the nerve. It should go away own it's own; give it a couple of weeks. Mention it to your doctor when you have the sutures removed. I hope this helps.

It's not unusual. When you go for follow up with your doctor, just mention it. The cyst was very close to the nerve and there's a little internal swelling after the surgery. That's why you have a little numbness. Once it starts healing, you should see that all go away.

Had one removed from my wrist. No effects on the feeling in my hand. It did before I had it removed. Depends on the nerves and if they are connected through it. Good idea to get it removed. Don't worry. Very common sugery and doc's know what they are doing!
