Since you are French I will forgive you for your ignorance. We invaded Iraq because after 9/11 we realized that we were involved in a war that was unlike any other we have faced. Our great country decided that in order to prevent another 9/11 attack we need to take the fight to the countries that threaten us. See unlike your country we want the world to be free and that makes us a target. Saddam was an evil man that killed thousands of people and the world minus the U.S. and a couple of brave countries have lost thousands of soldiers ridding that country of a horrible person. In my opinion of all of the countries that would never want to see another horrible dictator come to power and kill thousands it would be France. I was wrong. Don't you think that when the economic sanctions were to be lifted off of Iraq that they would restart the process of rebuilding there nuclear, biological and chemical weapons? Who do you think the targets of those attacks would be? It would not be France because they roll over and kiss everyone's *** with the exception of America. Those attacks would be against Israel and the United States. I support what we did and if another country wants to threaten this great country I say to hell with them lets **** them up to.

Practice. We like war. We're a very war-like people. Since the Soviets self destructed, well, there isn't anybody to deter us from going anywhere we like and bombing some brown people.

Did you ever notice we are especially fond of bombing brown people around Christmas time? Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas, have some high explosives.

Seriously, we put that maniac into power back in the 70's. We kind of had a moral obligation to take him out. Unfortunately we're very proud and we can't quite understand why everyone in the world doesn't want to be just like us. It is really time for us to leave and let the Iraqis figure out what they want to do, Iraqi style. They're be lots of dead Iraqis, and Iran might invade, but what the hell, the Liberals will be in charge in a couple years and that's a long way from here.

...and oh, BTW we didn't decide to fight Iraq. We decided to topple Saddam Hussein. We've since lost our way.

Thanks for the question. Can I come to France?

After 911 the majority of Americans were in a uproar over the cowardly terrorist acts. And most wanted the US to do something to somebody,

Iraq known well as a supporter or terroism and as a nation that helped and hid training camps. Also thier leader had betayed the US, since the US put him in power.

So the US figured the people in Iraq would be happy to be free of him ( and they are in the most part)

Now they are fighting to bring the terrrirst under control to that the Iraq government can run thier own nation.

The correct question would be written Americans, why do you fight in Iraq? Even though I am an American I am not in favor of the war in Iraq and I do not know the true reason for it ask this question to Bush if you really want to know although you will problably not like his reason.

We had ethics. We felt that no amount of money was worth watching people be brutalized, murdered, tortured, and slaughtered by a brutal dictator. The Dictator that ignored every UN resolution since the Gulf War. The Dictator that didn't allow the inspectors in. We couldn't be bought off to look the other way as the French, Russians, UN and Germans did.

Question back. If oil was our intent then we would have took control over Kuwait. We are already the most powerful country on Earth. So maybe it was to remove a threat, that is Saddam.
Why does your country continue to support terrorists and has repeatedly refused to stop the murdering of innocents by Muslims. Could it be that Your country is more interested in the oil they control?

Well let's see? Trade towers fell to the ground. Ok I don't believe they fell on their own. Many people killed. Are you starting to get the picture yet. We protect ourselves when we are being killed through terrorist attacks not lay down and take it. It is called self presevation. We took your but away from Hitler or did you forget. How? Not by playing nice that's for sure. Now when we are called in to protect and get the job done most turn into ungreatfull idiots and start calling names and doing mean things to us. If you don't want our help don't ask for it and if you do appreciate it! When you have a natural disaster who sends the most money to help reconstruct and feed your ungrateful butts? The Americans! I say stop putting your hand out learn how to take care of your own problems and maybe you'll have a better understanding and appreciation for all we do for everyone else while our own people suffer because we are to busy handing it out to everyone else. I don't feel everyone is bad just because of where they come from. Every nationality has evil and corrupt people just not all. I think everyone should grow up and play nice and make this a loving and beautiful world.

I'm an American
It is wrong for bush to declare war over oil.
At first Americans thought Iraq was hiding the terrorists and having nuclear war heads. That's what the gov. wanted us to think. And now we are the terrorists.
I can not speak for other Americans but the whole situation makes me sick and dishonored...

For many years, there has been a niche of people, predominately Islamic radicals who are convinced the purpose of their existence, the reason they were born, was to die killing infidels....ie - non muslim, especially western democratized society. They have been attacking us for years. Until they brought the war to our soil, we were content to have minimal face to face with them. After 9/11, we had no choice. Isn't it telling that the opposition in Iraq are not Iraqi's primarily but "insurgents", from outside Iraq? These are the same homocide bombers who live to kill us...either there or here....for my sake and my family's sake I much prefer to send in our brave young men and women to face them there. Iraq's ability to defend themselves is a red herring...we are eliminating our enemy there, and will continue until the enemy agrees to live and let live, or they are dead.
