obsessive compulsive disorder- you do things over and over again mindlessly (ie. switch on and off a light switch many times before leaving a room or washing your hands all the time like after touching a door knob, shaking someone's hand) You should watch As Good As it Gets with Jack Nicholson. Obsessive compulsive disorder. Go to www.webmd.com and read all you will need.
Do you have to have everything the exact same way? Do you count when you are doing something like washing your hands? Why would think think such a thing?
Many people are compulsive in their need for order and cleanliness but that does not mean you need the clinical diagnosis of OCD.
IF you think you have OCD, then you can get some very good professional help. Counseling works for some. Others need medication and counseling.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. its not only having to clean your hands or other things, its having a routine that you must do every day or superstitions that you must do if something does something else. Usually there is a certain number that is fixated on, you need to check your locks 14 times before you leave the house. It eventually intereferes with your lifestyle and you need behavioral therapy to help you work with your obsessions.

obsessive compulsive disorder. it's when you go nuts over weird things like for example: if there's a pile of magazines on a table and they're not perfectly stacked. Still confused? Watch the show "Monk".

If you truly have OCD, you need to seek help. It can tear you up mentally and emotionally, and can be physically exhausting !
THAT kind of " roller coaster ride " is nothing to fool around with. There are many meds for that. Please talk to your doctor!
