Only you can decide if you should/want to be on meds. You have to weigh the side affects against the disorders and how they affect you. I don't think there is a drug out there that does not have some sort of negative side affect. I'm on Lexapro and feel so much better, but there are still some negative affects. I have been on a number of anti-depressants over the years and for me Lexapro has had the least negative side affects of any I've taken. You could try Celexa which worked good for me but the sexual side affects were worse. You know, we all are individuals and react differently to meds, including herbs, I believe that St. Johns wart can contribute to high blood pressure. I would talk to my Psychiatrist or Family Physician about your all you have told us, including the St Johns wart. God Bless!!

Speak to a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist. I have been on Lexapro (20mg a day) for three years. I have no problem with being tired. I am 60 years old and it has not affected my sex drive. Sometimes when I can't fall asleep, I take Tylenol PM and it generally helps. An old, but effective sleeping pill is Sonata. It generally works fast, but wears off fast, Advantage; you don't feel tired. Disadvantage; you can wake up after four or five hours as it is not long acting. Did you try Valerian root? Good luck and speak to a doctor.

St. John's Wort is basically a natural version of Prozac, IIRC, with all of the side effects depending on what concentration you get.
Wellbutrin is actually something of an appetite suppresant; however I don't know how that will interact with your OCD, which could present a problem.
May I suggest that you add a book to your plan? "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy" has been shown through research to be nearly as effective as medication, and much more effective when used in conjunction with medication. It will also help if you get therapy in conjunction with all of this.

none of them are really good to take. Try to figure out what is causing the anxiety and see if you can avoid that trigger. The OCD accept it. Just don't let it control you. Find a useful outlet for it in your life.

I recommend getting a proper thorough medical physical checkup.
These drugs cause severe vitamin and mineral deficiencies, among other side affects, which then create other physical and mental difficuties.these are all long term withdrawal symptoms which can be handled with right nutritional supplements. Make sure your medical doctor
knows how to do the necessary tests to help you.
