This is true- these are also the same people who love welfair and take our medical.
On the other hand, those that have the guts will work themselfs out of being poor and do a damn good job at it.
If those who live here refuse to learn from their example then they deserve to have this nation.

I'm sorry but for all of you complaining about having to speak English should go back to the country your language orginates from. I don't give a crap about what language you speak in your home but when you're out in the American towns and cities have the RESPECT to speak the language of the land. In the United States the language is English. Just to clarify things...if the French would have won The War of 1812 we would be speaking French. If Mexico would have one the Spanish/ American war, we would speak Spanish. If you live in this country that gives FREE choice, then show the respect towards the country and speak the language the laws that give you the FREE choice are written it.

If you feel so strongly about it, report people under the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines, Content & Usage rule #8. However, your own grammar and spelling might run afoul of that same rule.
As for “the true nature of the beast,” your insults toward others, and your posting of a “question” that is nothing more than a rant to vent your frustrations, probably violate Content & Usage rule #1 and reflect a problem much more serious than any language or typing issue.
Also, your statement seems to presume that we are all "in America"; however, Yahoo! markets this product in many countries. Many of the people who post here do a commendable job of writing in English, even though they are from a non-English-speaking environment.

Who's in America? You're in America? Thank god for THAT then!!! I don't want you anywhere NEAR me and mine...!
Just because YOU'RE in America, doesn't mean that everyone ELSE on here is, so why don't you get your brain out and give it a long-overdue polish? When you put it back in, you might be able to comprehend that this site is open to people of ALL nationalities, from ALL countries, and if people WANT to ask for translations, why the hell shouldn't they?
I must say though that I've noticed several Spanish questions on here lately ... maybe there's a glitch making the US en Español questions cross over to the English sites? Because you DO know that ALL of the English sites are grouped together don't you? You can select to only see questions that originate in the US if you want, but that doesn't mean that all the people in the US are American - and ANYONE, from anywhere in the world, can get a free Yahoo.com id!!!

I totally agree with you. When I was a child, I spoke French because my parents were from Canada. We all went to French Catholic school where we were taught English. The nuns used to tell us that when you are in the United States, you speak English because it is very rude to speak another language in front of those who may not understand. We all ended up speaking English at my house. Now when I go to stores like Wal-Mart, I get so angry at the ones speaking a foreign language so loud, I feel like telling them the same thing the nun told us.
It is very rude.

Which means they get yahoo answesrs in other countries, but the questions are displayed for all to see and respond to. So of course they're gonna write in the laguage they're comfortable with! I got chosen best answer by someone who's primary language is spanish! I didn't even relize I answered the question...don't know spanish. Weird huh?

Say that to the Britsih that came over. thats hypocritical. Then they should have learned Indian, because the indians where here first, but know, the knocked the ***** out of them. /that wasn't nice was it. i think all should know diffrent languages, because newflash not everyone speaks English and shouldn't be obligated to know it either. an knowing more than one language is good and gives you better job opportunities. america is a place for any one of any culture has the opportunity to come and get a better life, so we are a muticultural place whether you like it or not somebody should not have to drop thier language to learn an other one. and in case you didn't know english is the hardest Language to learn so don't think it's all that easy to just learn another language. (just in case i was born and raised here so....)

Since when is the internet a United States thing?
The last time I checked, the internet is a global thing and everyone is welcome to use it. I was born and raised in the United States as was my mother and father and my grandmother and grandfather so, unfortunately, english is the only language I know and understand.
That being said, it doesn't mean that it is the only language that should be used on the internet or in the group for that matter. If someone doesn't use english, so what, if I don't understand it, then that is my fault not theirs, but. . . . . . . if they want me to understand what they are saying then they need to use english.
So, welcome to everyone.

Not everyone here is from America , but I agree with you for the fact this is an English based forum and one of the rules is that you speak and write english ! But if your not native indian ....sorry to say everyone in North America was once a foreigner ...I would not want to visit Paris and be treated negativly like that , due to the fact I am a foreigner. So I agree with you in the mandatory english but stereotyping is uncalled for.

Look this is the language section of the site. If people didn't have questions about languages or talk in different langauages, then what the hell would be the use of this section, to help people like you, with your English? Sorry but you should know how to spell by now and if you don't then I can't help you! Ciao.
