You speak of hellfire and eternal damnation. But what of chimney filters? Think of the people that live in the neighborhood, for the love of Christ.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but I did have my father opt for cremation when he died, as has my mother in her later years, and I can tell you the effect it has on me, their only son. If you can't appreciate my need to visit your grave, dad, and see your name on your headstone, with the dates of your birth and death, then you are too insensitive to your son's love for you, and the difficulty or stress I feel at your dying. To my dad: I'm sorry you did that. You never allowed closeness all your life, and so I'm not too surprised, but I am sorry I can't visit your grave where your full, uncharred body would be beneath where I stood or knelt in prayer to God and in "conversation" with you. To my mother, still alive with her daughters, my sisters: By your insensitivity of my needs, you have ended our relationship while you're still alive, and I am free to go on without you and your daughters. You have no need for me, therefore, I have no need for you. Wonder why ya'll can't come to my house or call me or send mail here? It's because all of you are as good as dead and gone, absent of any remnants here on earth or in my heart. And to all you wanna-be psychologists, this is not an expression of a deep-seated, ever lasting love I have for my mother and sisters. It is a recollection of the bitterness that once was there for them, and a fierce determination that they will never darken my life again. I don't know whether this has addressed your concerns, melvin, but I just answered according to any possible understanding of your question I might have, and I do hope it gives some reply to your question. God Bless you.
