Are dogs abused?

Question

I got a my puppie at 6 months old. I recieved him from a pet store on a impulse buy. I love my little guy so much that my husband at times does get a tad jealous, hey my doggie is a Lhapso Apsa and he is the cutest thing! My question is...are dogs in certain countries treated well as my doggie? I am so scared that in primitive countries that they abuse animals. Are dogs abused in primitive coutries?

dogs are sometimes eaten in China and Korea, and I think a few other asian countries. I wouldn't call Asia primitive.

dogs are abused all over, in civilized places and in uncivilized places. It depends on the humans who have them. The dog eaters of Asia are mostly older guys worried about being impotent. Eating dog is supposed to make you more of a man. But here, guys go out and blow the heads off deer for the same reason.

So I guess we're primitive too (or men are, anyway...)

Not only are dogs abused in other countries. They are abused in America too. Probably more often.... Puppy Mills, Dog fights, Bait dogs, testing labs. and just plain sick people. Some Chinese places here in America serve dogs. A Chinese place in my town just got shut down because they found multiple dog carcases in the restaurant freezer. People were wonderign where the strays were going....

Sometimes the dog's in 'primitive' places are actually happier than dogs in America that are being pampered, just because they get to be dogs, and not treated like humans. Dogs in some primitive places still get fed, get to be outside and run and be with other dogs as well as people.

But yes, abuse is everywhere. But so is love.

The US,UK and some parts of Europe and Australia, are the only countries they treat their dogs as part of the family. So yes some backwards "primitive" countries abuse dogs/cats...Like China for instance.

So so ahead and spoil your furry friend...just to show those retards your pet is worth more than their pathetic lives. And tell hubby to get over it....lol

Dogs, Cats and any other type of animals are abused all over the world. By the rich and the poor.

It's all on how you are raised as to how animals should be treated.

This is why they have developed animal enforcement agencies to help protect some of these animals.

Animals are abused in our so called civilized country! Has nothing to do with primitive....But rather abusive, disgusting, and just plain ignorant, and mean. I'd like to see how someone would like to be treated as some treat their pets. Not e/one has compassion for animals, and it makes me sick.

yes...dogs are abused...I got a dog from the human society and she was abused as a puppy..For the longest time i had a hard time getting her used to me...but now a year later she is doing alot better..she still has problems with guys though

They eat dog in some countries. And they are abused right here in the USA.

Sadly dogs are abused when bought by the wrong people. So to help them donate money to the animal humane society.
