listen if you get on with girl its possible her mum could become the mother in law at some time so she's just practicing. There are two types of mother theres the ones who it would not matter who the kids brought home they would not be good enough unless they were loaded and the other type like me who will take you under their wing to keep an eye on how you are treating me kid.not sure which is the lesser of the two evils....

Her mum's going the right way to losing her daughter. She needs to get a grip. If you're wrong you'll split soon enough, and if you're right then surely her daughter's happiness is worth more than her opinion about you? Get your girlfriend to explain maturely to her mum how you both feel and that she would like to have you both in her life, she'll come round in the end. Better still, both of you do it then she'll have to believe it.

Is your girlfriend still in highschool? It's possible that her mom just thinks there's too much of an age difference and that's why she's uncomfortable. She might still see her daughter as a little girl and you as an adult. Give her time to get used to the idea. . .if you continue to date her daughter, be open about it. Otherwise, the mother will just think that she was right to be concerned.

If you like her then keep seeing her. Her mother has little to do with the equasion this girl is not a minor anymore so she can't have you arrested or anything for harrassment. If she likes you keep seeing her and you could have a polite conversation about how it's wonderful that she cares for her daughter but her daughter is fully capable of making her own decisions. Either that or just try your best to ignore her.

No-one is good enough for anyones daughter ,
Shes just scared her little girl will get hurt
Your mum probably feels the same about her little boy even if she doesn't show it .
we never grow up in are parents eyes .
Just don't let it become an issue because you might find your only seeing each other to annoy her .

She is 18 yrs old, and last time I checked that is legal age so who cares what her mum says? If this girl truely wants to be with you then she will make her mum get the point that she really likes you and all will be well.
Good Luck....

Its a shame her mom thinks that way. Although you have to realise her mom is only worried about her daughters welfare, thats what moms do you know...lol. its up to you to prove her wrong... if the mom expects her daughter to phone home, then be the one to remind her... if she has to be home by a certain time, make sure she is... Always remember, you have to give respect to earn respect...
Moms just worry and until you prove that she doesnt need to, then anyone taking away her precious daughter will not be good enough...lol...

She is 18, and a woman, not a child. It may be her mothers opinion of you is low, but thats not HER opinion.. She is old enough to make her own choices and her own mistakes now- its called growing up.

I think that if you really love her then you wouldn't want to hurt her parents and so you would respect their wishes to not see their daughter - there are other girls out there and I am sure that you would eventually find someone who is right for you and whom' family considers you right for them
