I've got school in less than 2 weeks and I can't afford to wait 4 weeks!!! Any words of advice?

Yes. There is no shame in your predicament. I hit a bad patch, and my family doc prscribed a mild anti-depressant that was very effective. I was able to toss the balance of meds in a couple of weeks.

Your doc will be able to write a prescription that meets your requirements and will be effective. Good luck and God bless you!

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

NO!!! Go to a psychiatrist. Ask your family doc to refer you if you haven't seen one already, or get a new psychiatrist if you don't have confidence in the one you have now. Most of the time, family practice docs don't want to manage antidepressants anyway, and/or will refuse to do so.
