there is no "war" between science and religion. quite the contrary, i agree that science proves religion. take a look at the quran, for example, where nearly 1500 years ago, before we had a microscope, telescope, before people knew the earth was round or flat, before people had travelled all across the world -- nearly 1500 years ago, the Quran contains many detailed scientific facts that are being proven day by day today. and until now, not a single one has been disproven or shown to be wrong or incorrect.
some examples?
-- the Quran mentions the development of the baby:
"And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah , the best of creators." (23:12-14).
and
"... He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah , your Lord; to Him belongs dominion. There is no deity except Him, so how are you averted?" (39:6)
-- the Quran mentions the orbits of the sun and the moon, which again, people did not know:
"And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming." (36:37-40).
the examples are very many -- a simple web search for "quran and science" will show many many examples taken from the Quran that are only seen to be true today, and that people had no way of knowing nearly 1500 years ago.
how then, does science prove religion? from a religious perspective, a person who believes in God will say that God created everything, God is all knowing, God is most powerful, etc. right? so based on that, God should be infallible and should not make mistakes, right?
so when our scientific technologies advance day by day, and we, humans, who are by nature fallible, discover that thigns mentioned 1400 years ago in an unaltered religious text are all true with not a single mistake, then it is proof that this book is divine in nature, because if it wasn't, it would have mistakes in it, especially when its making statements about scientific things that people back then couldn't verify and that we can now verify.
i highly encourage you to read some about islam and science, and perhaps if you do, you will see that science and religion go hand in hand, and its not a matter of "one or the other."
two last notes - 1. the quran is NOT a science book. its a book of guidence for people. it has scientific signs is it as proof to the people and a call for them to think and ponder signs of creation, but it is NOT a science book. 2. many statements of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the ahadith are also being seen coming true today, both scientific and non scientific things that he said would happen.

Maybe God keeps trying till he gets it right.
Earth is still growing. Your body kept changing at an early age, right?
Evolution as per Darwin - Is the gradual changes over periods of generations, not decades. Adaption of a virus to it's surroundings is not evolution. Check with Darwin.
People are cured of illnesses in hospitals. Good place for it.
And you assume incorrectly. That is not a fact but an assumption you are making to get your invalid point across.
No confusion here. Guess the parable is right.
Got any more inelegant rants??

Genesis says that "beasts" roamed the earth...what were these beasts? they could've been dinosaurs. ALSO the Bible says that a day to us is longer to God. SO the "sixth day" when God created animals and man, could've lasted longer than the 24 hour day we are used to explaining the millions of years. evolution is real, but not evolution of monkeys to men...or whales to hippos or any of that nonsense, humans evolved from humans...there is scientific evidence proving holes in the monkey evolutionary theory that scientists came up with. science also changes all of the time? MOST scientists these days will say that there has to be a greater being that created the universe for all of this stuff to have happened.

I don't believe that, "only by assuming that God is imaginary that science can proceed."
God gave man a brain that is incomprehensible to even the smartest human being. With this brain he gave us the power to question, hypothesize, and understand. Science came before us and will always be here. This does not mean that there can't be a God when there is Science.

I disagree. We don't have to understand why things are the way they are because God is all-powerful and in control. He doesn't want us to figure out everything, and we can't anyway. It also helps us rely on Him. For info on evolution, read Lee Strobel's "The Case For A Creator." And check out www.notreligion.com
