No, this is illegal and considered animal cruelty.
Call PETA about the animals and they will see that they are humanely taken care of by finding homes or no kill shelters.
Pet stores often look for cats/kittens to sell, and sometimes you can get money back on them if they are well tempered, ect. Try calling local pet stores and seeing if they accept kittens and cats.
You probably have a source of food on the property, so I would suggest making a few rounds to see what [if anything] they are eating. if you take the food away, they will drift somewhere else.
My boyfriends parents had the same problem and hooked a sprinkeler to a motion detector and every time a cat(s) came onto the property they were shot with water. It took a while but eventually they gave up on getting into the trash.
Ah! Trash, make sure your trash cans and such are covered and the cats can't easily knock them over (place bricks or something VERY heavy over them).

Yes. My recommendation is using a 12 ga shotgun. I have tried a 22cal and sometimes don't get the job done quickly. If ammo cost is a problem, fry up some bacon and put grease on plates in the yard, this will attract a few or several and you can get more with one shot. #6 shot will give a good pattern. stand 20 yds away. Good Luck

Actually, shotting a feral is not legal in most states. You would need to check your area for the law. Have you considered contacting your local cat rescue groups?? They would at least trap and alter the cats so they wouldn't continue to grown in numbers. The link below is a search engine for finding local groups

On your property you can shoot any cat or other animal. After all, you can never tell whether they may not have rabies and that is an acceptable defense.
Here in Colorado you can even shoot people on your property if you feel threatened.
In Europe, when we had too many kittens, they were put in a sack and drowned. You just kept what you wanted.
In your case I would say, go for it. That many animals will get dangerous, because they'll have trouble finding enough food, and will get desperate.

I would hope that being an intelligent adult that you could think of another more humane way to solve this issue. I wish you luck and pray for the animals, they really are not the ones at fault, I'm sure it started with a irresponsible human in the first place.

I believe laws in most areas you can only shot an animal if they are a threat to you or other animals you own on your property. Have you even tried to get org. in to help. Or are you just assuming no one will help?

It is illegal to shoot any animal, even feral cats without a license. Call the humane society. I highly doubt that they will reject your request because it is their job.
