I tried running on a treadmill for a couple weeks but it killed my knees. Are there any workouts that are easier on the knees?

To ease stress on the knees while running, it is recommended that you build your quadriceps and hamstring muscles using weights. Weak quads will cause the knee to track improperly while running, causing pain.

But for now, you could try water aerobics or the elliptical machine. Or walking is GREAT!!

Try Denise Austin's "Blast Away the Pounds: Indoor Walk". It's an awsome fitness DVD and it's available at Walmart or even www.walmart.com for only $10. It's very low impact and you actually lose weight too! It's not just walking on the spot. She gets really creative with the walking and makes a great workout out of it!

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I am a runner, but have been tendonitis in one ankle. So, when I need a cardio workout but want low-impact for my ankle, I go ROLLERBLADING!!! Plus, at 10 mph, you can burn over 400 calories per hour!
