Yes, you should take your cat to the vet, so they can determine what kind of worms they are and give you medicine to kill them.

You need to see a vet along with a sample of his or her bowel movement. That way if there are more than 1 type of worm, or if there is anything else going on they will be able to catch it early. The vet is the best bet to get it right. You do not want this to get out of hand, so the sooner you get your cat to the vet the better off you will be. Do NOT use the over the counter without checking wit h your vet. Your pet is worth the cost. They are your best friends. If you have more than one you probably need to take them all.

If you have a regular vet, you might be able to call and tell them you have visual confirmation of worms and they can prescribe without an office visit. Otherwise, you should obtain a stool sample (fresh, it can't be sitting in the catbox for hours before you get it) and bring it in. The lab at the vet's office will find the worms/eggs and prescibe. I think this type of worm needs the prescription worm killer, not the general wormer sold at the pet store.

Yes I agree with SOME people go to the vet, it is some kind of worm and thats not good, DONT EAT THE WORM it will make you SICK!
Also don't go to wal-mart because those kind of medicine don't work , if you do have worms your vet will give you a perscrition or a mention in the medicine to take care of your problem. Good luck

Sounds like tapeworm. Do the worms dry up and look like grains of rice? usually found in cats sleeping area. DO NOT USE over the counter medication. Take your cat to the vet for medication. Over the counter stuff can be harmful

Your cat likely has worms, if he is vomiting, very loose bowel movements or goes in his litter box many times through the day, doesn't want to eat or drinks frequently, or simply just lays around doing very little in the way of movement, he's probably quite infested and can become quite ill if not treated.
Do not deworm him yourself using off the shelf worm medicine as this can be harmful. Contact your vet and he can tell you the best thing to do...which will probably to take him in for treatment. I suggest you do this as soon as possible...particularly if the cat is acting very listless (tired)
Good luck

Yes, take the cat to the vet. These are worms that come from flea bites, and he needs to be de-wormed.

You can get worming medicine at wal mart. Mix it in with her food. That should get rid of it. If it doesn't, she needs to see the vet.
